Relay Express: About Us
In February 1986, Relay Express was founded by Mike Bernecker, Matt Seiter, and Robert Smith. Relay Express believes in people first, whether it’s customers, employees or its fleet of independent contractors. This philosophy has established Relay Express as one of the top delivery services in the Ohio, Kentucky, Indiana tri-state region. Over 23 years, Relay Express has grown substantially to a full-service regional delivery company. Relay Express has also expanded their company throughout the contiguous United States servicing major cities throughout Michigan, Indiana, Ohio, Kentucky, West Virginia, New York, Pennsylvania, and Georgia- just to name a few.
Relay Express takes great pride in our local community. Relay Express continues to donate its time and money to a variety of local and national causes, including the Arthritis Foundation, SIDS Foundation and many area youth organizations. In the future, Relay Express’ philosophy of “people first” will serve our community well, both as a full-service delivery company and as a community member.

Moved the offices to a new location to

Joined the MCAA

Opened a second location in Dayton, Ohio. |

Hired Jim Bernecker as Manager of the
Dayton office. |

Jim Bernecker elected to the ECA board of directors |

Began to research Franchising as a strategy for expansion. |

Opened satellite operations in Brighton and Grand Rapids Michigan. |

Columbus Ohio office opened. |
